ISLAMABAD, October 31, 2026 — Ufone has narrowed the gap with Jazz in Pakistan’s mobile telecommunications market, leaving the country’s two largest operators separated by approximately 150,000 subscribers.

According to September 2026 industry figures cited by brokerage Arif Habib Limited, Pakistan had 211.47 million mobile subscribers, up from 200.56 million at the end of 2025.

Jazz remained the largest operator with 76.44 million subscribers, representing approximately 36.15% of the market.

Ufone followed closely with 76.29 million subscribers and a market share of 36.08%.

Zong held 56.62 million subscribers, while Special Communications Organisation accounted for approximately 2.12 million.

Ufone recorded the largest increase during the first nine months of 2026, adding 4.83 million subscribers.

Over the same period, Zong added approximately 3.48 million subscribers and Jazz gained 2.58 million.

The figures show how competition between the country’s largest mobile operators has intensified as subscriber growth continues.

Pakistan’s total mobile subscriber base increased by approximately 300,000 during September alone.

For consumers, stronger competition could encourage operators to improve coverage, mobile data packages and customer service.

However, subscriber numbers alone do not establish which operator provides the best network performance or customer experience.

The narrow gap between Jazz and Ufone will make subsequent monthly subscriber figures an important indicator of changes in Pakistan’s telecom market.
