ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s telecommunications operators have deployed 1,782 fifth-generation (5G) mobile network sites across 24 cities, reflecting the phased expansion of next-generation mobile infrastructure.

According to the reported deployment figures, Jazz accounts for 1,015 sites, Zong for 640 and Ufone for 127.

Karachi has 385 sites, Lahore 373 and Islamabad 276, placing the three major cities among the principal areas of deployment.

Coverage Will Vary

A 5G site is part of the network infrastructure needed to deliver next-generation mobile connectivity. The number of deployed sites does not mean that every neighbourhood in a listed city has uniform 5G coverage.

Network performance and availability depend on an operator’s local rollout, spectrum use, compatible devices and other technical conditions.

Figures cited for domestic manufacturing show 607,093 5G-capable mobile devices were assembled locally between January and August 2026.

The rollout is expected to continue in phases, with coverage varying between cities and operators as networks are expanded.
