ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is taking its technology investment outreach to several American cities through Pak–US Tech Connect 2026, bringing software businesses, entrepreneurs and industry representatives into direct contact with potential US partners.
The programme opened in Silicon Valley and is scheduled to continue through Dallas, Washington and Chicago during October. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, attended the Silicon Valley event, where participants discussed technology cooperation, investment opportunities and links between Pakistani companies and the American innovation ecosystem.
According to a government press release dated October 18, the event is the third edition of a technology investment conference series organised by Pakistan’s embassy and consulates in the United States in coordination with the Pakistan Software Export Board.
Building commercial links
The initiative is designed to connect Pakistani technology firms with businesses, investors and potential clients in the United States. Such connections can help companies develop export contracts, establish distribution partnerships and understand the requirements of operating in a competitive international market.
For software and digital-services businesses, international expansion often depends on access to customers and trusted commercial networks rather than large physical export infrastructure. Meetings with potential partners can therefore play an important role in building sales pipelines and exploring investment.
Silicon Valley provides a natural starting point because of its concentration of technology companies, venture capital firms and specialist talent. The programme’s additional stops extend outreach to other US business communities.
Four-city programme
The government announced an opening event in Silicon Valley/San Francisco followed by sessions in Dallas on October 19, Washington on October 21 and Chicago on October 23.
The itinerary allows Pakistan’s technology delegation to engage with different business networks rather than concentrating activity in one location. Discussions are intended to cover cooperation in emerging technologies, digital enterprises and commercial investment.
Ambassador Sheikh highlighted existing Pakistan–US technology partnerships and the potential for further collaboration, according to the official statement.
Opportunities for Pakistani firms
The United States is an important destination for technology services, with demand spanning software development, enterprise support, digital products and specialist technical work. Pakistani firms seeking overseas growth can benefit from understanding procurement practices, contractual expectations and client requirements in that market.
The programme also fits within broader efforts to expand Pakistan’s exports through higher-value services. Technology exports can support skilled employment and allow companies to reach customers without relying on traditional merchandise supply chains.
The remaining events in Washington and Chicago provide further opportunities for Pakistani participants to develop business relationships and pursue discussions initiated during the opening sessions.
