Pakistan’s 1LINK expects transactions across its payment rails to exceed 12 billion in 2026, with total throughput approaching Rs90 trillion, according to figures reported by the company.

The numbers are projections for the full year rather than completed 2026 results.

For comparison, 1LINK says it processed more than 10 billion transactions worth Rs75.4 trillion during 2025.

The company operates payment infrastructure used by banks and other financial institutions in Pakistan. The State Bank of Pakistan lists 1LINK among regulated payment system operators.

Figures reported for the first nine months of 2026 show the scale of several parts of the network. The 1IBFT interbank funds-transfer service handled about 998.9 million transactions worth Rs43.7 trillion from January through September.

During the same period, 1BILL handled about 170.6 million transactions worth Rs12.3 trillion, while ATM switching accounted for roughly 285.4 million transactions worth Rs3.2 trillion.

The different services cover only parts of the wider transaction activity running through 1LINK’s infrastructure, so the figures should not be added together and treated as the company’s complete annual total.

The projected increase reflects the continuing shift toward electronic payments and account-to-account transfers in Pakistan. Consumers and businesses are increasingly using digital channels for transfers, bill payments and merchant transactions, while banks continue to expand app-based services.

For users, higher digital transaction volumes can mean greater convenience and faster movement of money, but they also increase the importance of system reliability, fraud controls and cybersecurity.

If 1LINK’s projection is reached, crossing 12 billion transactions would mark another increase in the scale of Pakistan’s digital payment infrastructure after the more than 10 billion transactions the company reported for 2025.
