ISLAMABAD, November 4, 2026: The Senate of Pakistan passed six bills during its October 26 sitting, covering criminal procedure, consumer protection, education and other legislative matters.
Among the measures approved were amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Islamabad Consumers Protection Act.
The upper house also passed legislation concerning the Special Technology Zones Authority and the establishment of Iqra Global University.
Bills Move Through Legislative Process
The legislation addresses different areas of public administration, including legal procedures and consumer rights in Islamabad.
According to the Senate’s official legislative record, several bills were transmitted to the National Assembly on October 27 for further consideration.
Passage by the Senate does not automatically make a bill law. Further parliamentary steps and presidential assent may be required, depending on each bill’s legislative status.
The developments form part of Parliament’s ongoing legislative work.
