LAHORE — Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has commissioned two new 132kV grid stations at Ittihad Town and Audit and Accounts, expanding the city’s electricity distribution infrastructure.

The company said the new facilities will strengthen its network, reduce pressure on existing grid stations and improve electricity supply to consumers in areas served by the connected feeders.

The Ittihad Town grid station was built at a cost of Rs588 million. Four 11kV feeders — Ittihad Town F-1, F-2, F-3 and Azimabad — are already being supplied through the station, with another 11 feeders scheduled to be transferred to the facility.

LESCO Board Chairman Amir Zia inaugurated the two stations alongside Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Ramzan Butt and other senior officials.

Grid stations connect higher-voltage electricity infrastructure to the distribution network supplying homes, businesses and industrial consumers. Additional grid capacity allows electricity demand to be shared more effectively between facilities and supports expanding residential and commercial areas.

The projects are part of efforts to reinforce Lahore’s electricity network as demand patterns change across the city. Shifting feeders to newly commissioned stations can ease pressure on existing equipment and provide greater flexibility in managing local supply.

The two stations represent an investment in the infrastructure needed to deliver electricity to consumers. LESCO plans to bring more feeders onto the Ittihad Town station as the new facilities are integrated into regular operations.
