Karachi residents reported electricity outages on Friday night in neighbourhoods normally exempt from loadshedding, with K-Electric attributing additional load management to a nationwide shortage of liquefied natural gas supplies.

According to reporting from the city, areas including Defence, Clifton, PECHS, Gulshan-i-Iqbal and North Nazimabad experienced evening or late-night interruptions. Some previously exempt localities reportedly faced outages of up to two hours, while other parts of the city already faced longer cuts.

The disruption highlights the effect of fuel supply constraints on electricity generation. Area-specific schedules and supply conditions may change, and the reported outages should not be interpreted as a permanent revision for every locality.
