KARACHI: Border Health Services has resumed vaccination services for Umrah pilgrims and other international travellers at a centre near Jinnah International Airport following the expiry of a temporary exemption on October 10.

The International Traveller Vaccination Centre at the Civil Dispensary near Star Gate is operating around the clock, according to The Express Tribune’s October 11 report. It provides travel immunisations and related certificates.

Officials cited in the report said the centre offers polio, meningitis and yellow-fever vaccinations where applicable. These vaccines do not all apply to every Umrah traveller: requirements depend on the destination, itinerary and relevant health regulations.

The report put the meningitis vaccination fee at Rs2,785 and said polio vaccination was available free of charge. Travellers should confirm current charges, certificate validity and vaccination requirements with the authorised centre before departure.

Border Health Services has also advised travellers to obtain any required documentation ahead of their journey. Further vaccination facilities have been proposed for Hyderabad and Larkana; their opening dates were not confirmed in the report.
