ISLAMABAD, October 25, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong to review bilateral cooperation, including progress under the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), trade and investment ties.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Press Information Department on Sunday, the discussion also covered regional connectivity, agricultural cooperation and developments affecting the wider region.

Pakistan and China maintain extensive economic and diplomatic ties, with CPEC serving as a major framework for cooperation in infrastructure, energy and connectivity.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review existing priorities and explore ways to deepen commercial engagement, including opportunities for investment and greater exchange between businesses.

Agriculture was among the sectors discussed, reflecting interest in expanding cooperation beyond large infrastructure projects to areas that could support production and exports.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional developments, underscoring the diplomatic dimension of the relationship alongside economic coordination.

The official account described a review of ongoing cooperation and shared priorities. It did not announce a newly signed investment agreement, fresh CPEC financing or the launch of a specific new project.

Further progress will depend on follow-up engagement by the relevant institutions and implementation of existing cooperation plans.
