Pakistan has reduced the petrol price by Rs2.93 per litre to Rs395.37 while raising the high-speed diesel price by Re0.61 per litre to Rs396.85, according to the Petroleum Division notification reported on October 12.

The revised rates take effect on Tuesday, October 13. The adjustment moves the two fuels in opposite directions despite continued pressure from high international energy costs.

Petrol prices matter directly to private motorists and motorcycle users, while high-speed diesel is an important input for freight, passenger transport and commercial operations. Changes in diesel costs can therefore affect the broader distribution chain.

The government’s announced rates are effective for the stated period and may change under subsequent notifications. Consumers should consult the latest official announcement for any later revision.
