ISLAMABAD, October 30, 2026 — The federal government has increased the price of high-speed diesel by 85 paisas per litre while keeping petrol unchanged under Pakistan’s daily petroleum pricing system.
According to the Petroleum Division’s notification, the diesel price has risen from Rs399.82 to Rs400.67 per litre for October 30.
The price of petrol remains at Rs377.91 per litre.
The revised rates were announced on Thursday as part of the government’s mechanism for adjusting domestic fuel prices in response to changes in international petroleum markets.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority is responsible for publishing updated petroleum prices under the framework.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has said the daily pricing mechanism uses a rolling seven-day average of international petroleum prices.
The system is intended to reflect movements in global oil markets more quickly than the previous arrangements, under which fuel prices were reviewed at longer intervals.
The latest diesel increase is relatively small, but the fuel is widely used in goods transport, public transport, agriculture and other commercial activities.
Changes in diesel prices can therefore affect operating costs across several sectors, particularly when increases continue over time.
The Petroleum Division has linked the latest adjustment to international benchmark prices, premiums and other costs involved in petroleum pricing.
Global oil markets have remained volatile amid tensions in the Middle East and concerns about energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
For October 30, petrol consumers will see no change in the notified rate, while diesel users will pay the revised price of Rs400.67 per litre.
