Pakistan has raised petrol and high-speed diesel prices for October 3 to 5, increasing the cost of both major transport fuels under the latest petroleum price revision.

Petrol has been increased by Rs2.10 per litre to Rs392.76, up from Rs390.66 per litre.

High-speed diesel has risen by Re0.30 per litre to Rs399.64, compared with Rs399.34 previously.

According to the Petroleum Division’s notification, the revised prices apply from October 3 through October 5, 2026.

The latest adjustment means petrol has become more expensive for motorists, while the increase in high-speed diesel is comparatively small.

High-speed diesel is widely used in freight transport, buses, agriculture and parts of industry, so changes in its price can feed into transport and production costs. Petrol has a more direct impact on private motorists, motorcycles and other petrol-powered vehicles.

The Petroleum Division said the price revision reflected international market developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and other incidentals used in the pricing mechanism.

The new rates follow another revision a day earlier. Petrol had been set at Rs390.66 per litre for October 2, while high-speed diesel was Rs399.34.

That makes the October 3 increase the second consecutive daily rise in petrol. Compared with the October 1 rate of Rs387.40, petrol is now Rs5.36 per litre higher.

The government has been making frequent fuel-price adjustments as international energy markets remain volatile. Domestic prices are influenced by international product prices as well as exchange-rate movements, freight, taxes, levies and other components of the pricing formula.

For households and businesses, the immediate effect is straightforward: filling a petrol vehicle costs more from October 3, while diesel users face a smaller increase.

The Rs392.76 petrol and Rs399.64 diesel rates are specific to the October 3–5 period and may change again when the next official revision takes effect.
