ISLAMABAD, October 28, 2026: The federal government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs3.19 per litre while increasing high-speed diesel by Rs2.25, according to the latest fuel-price revision effective Wednesday.
Petrol now costs Rs376.06 per litre, down from Rs379.25, while high-speed diesel has increased to Rs398.07 from Rs395.82.
The revised rates were announced through the Petroleum Division’s pricing notification and apply to October 28 under Pakistan’s daily fuel-price review mechanism.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority attributed the adjustment to changes in international petroleum benchmarks, import premiums and related costs.
The petrol reduction was supported by a Rs5.71-per-litre cut in customs duty, bringing that component down from Rs26.27 to Rs20.56 per litre.
Government levies and fixed dealer and oil-marketing company margins remained unchanged in the latest adjustment.
The contrasting price movements offer modest relief to petrol-powered vehicle users while raising fuel costs for diesel-dependent transport, agricultural machinery and commercial operations.
Pakistan’s daily pricing system reflects movements in international energy markets more frequently than the country’s earlier fortnightly arrangement, making the latest revision directly relevant to household travel expenses and business operating costs.
