ISLAMABAD: Three organisations in Pakistan’s maritime sector have been ranked among the country’s 10 most profitable state-owned enterprises, according to the federal government’s financial reporting for fiscal year 2024–25.

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) placed sixth, Port Qasim Authority (PQA) seventh and Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) tenth in the profitability ranking.

The figures were highlighted in a government statement based on the Finance Division’s annual aggregate report on state-owned enterprises.

Maritime Sector’s Contribution

KPT and PQA oversee major port operations, while PNSC is involved in national shipping activities. Their inclusion in the top 10 reflects the contribution of maritime transport and port services to the financial performance of public enterprises.

The ranking is based on the reporting period covered by the FY2024–25 review and should not be interpreted as a current-year profit forecast.

The broader state-enterprise report provides a basis for comparing public-sector financial performance and assessing the results of government-owned commercial operations.
