KARACHI, October 29, 2026 — Ten Pakistani businesses are seeking a combined $51 million in investment over the next 12 months to expand projects involving clean energy, sustainable transport, waste management and other climate-related solutions.

The businesses presented their proposals at the Climate Finance Accelerator Pakistan Investor Roadshow, held in Karachi on October 27 and 28 with support from the British government.

The programme, implemented by DAI, provides technical and financial assistance to help businesses develop investment-ready projects and connect with potential financiers.

The participating companies represent five sectors, including agriculture, waste management, clean energy, construction and electric mobility.

Among the projects are agricultural-waste conversion into bio-coal, solar financing for underserved customers, building energy optimisation using artificial intelligence, and electric buses supported by charging infrastructure.

The businesses have identified a wider investment pipeline worth approximately $120 million over three years.

However, these figures represent financing being sought and potential future investment, rather than funds already secured.

The programme previously supported 22 projects between 2022 and 2024 and helped mobilise around $40 million for climate-related activities.

The latest roadshow also brought together government representatives, investors and financial institutions to discuss obstacles affecting climate investment in Pakistan.

Participants examined how regulatory conditions, access to finance and project preparation could influence the development of commercially viable environmental businesses.

The initiative highlights growing efforts to attract private capital into climate projects rather than relying exclusively on public funding or international assistance.

Whether the participating businesses secure their targeted investment will depend on investor interest, financial assessments and the commercial viability of individual proposals.
