KARACHI, October 30, 2026 — Climate-friendly business projects in Pakistan could attract up to $120 million in investment over the next three years, according to estimates highlighted at an investor event in Karachi.

The investment potential was discussed at a two-day Investor Roadshow and Policy Dialogue organised by Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) Pakistan with support from the British government.

The event brought together Pakistani businesses, potential investors, financial institutions and government representatives to explore opportunities in environmentally sustainable projects.

Ten Pakistani businesses from five sectors presented their proposals to prospective investors.

The discussions focused on mobilising private investment for projects that could support renewable energy, reduce carbon emissions and contribute to environmentally sustainable economic activity.

Sindh Environment Secretary Faisal Ahmed Uqaili was among the officials involved in the dialogue, alongside British representatives and members of the investment community.

Access to finance remains an important challenge for companies seeking to develop climate-related projects, particularly when substantial upfront investment is required.

Investor engagement can help businesses present their commercial plans, explain expected environmental benefits and identify financing arrangements suited to their projects.

The event also highlighted the role of public policy in attracting private capital to environmentally sustainable industries.

For Pakistan, expanding climate finance could help businesses adopt cleaner technologies while supporting efforts to address the country’s environmental challenges.

However, converting investment interest into completed projects will depend on commercial assessments, financing negotiations and the ability of individual businesses to meet investor requirements.

The discussions in Karachi illustrate growing efforts to connect Pakistani businesses with international climate-finance opportunities.

Whether the full investment potential is realised will become clearer as participating projects move through the financing and development process.
