KARACHI, October 30, 2026 — Pakistan State Oil (PSO) reported a profit after tax of Rs25.56 billion for the July–September quarter of fiscal year 2026–27, compared with Rs9.39 billion in the corresponding period last year, supported by higher petroleum sales and an improved product mix.

According to the company’s quarterly financial report submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, earnings per share increased to Rs54.44 from Rs20 a year earlier.

PSO recorded a 17.8% year-on-year increase in petroleum sales volumes, outperforming the industry’s growth of 7.1%. Its overall market share rose by 4.2 percentage points to 45.9% during the quarter.

The company’s performance was particularly strong in petrol and high-speed diesel. Petrol sales increased by 23.2% to 968,000 metric tonnes, while diesel sales grew by 12.8% to 759,000 metric tonnes despite a decline in overall industry demand for diesel.

PSO also reported a 15.5% increase in aviation fuel sales and a 17.4% rise in lubricant sales. Its share of the white oil market, which includes major refined petroleum products, reached 48.6%.

PSO’s consolidated profit, which includes earnings from its 63.56%-owned subsidiary Pakistan Refinery Limited, stood at Rs29.42 billion during the quarter, with consolidated earnings per share of Rs62.66.

The company continued expanding its retail operations, completing the development of 37 new outlets during the quarter and taking its nationwide network to 3,727 locations. It also commissioned electric vehicle charging facilities in Faisalabad and Multan, bringing its charging network to 16 locations.

PSO said its profitability benefited from higher sales volumes and a more favourable product mix, although increased finance costs partly offset those gains.

The company’s circular debt and other government-related receivables stood at approximately Rs525 billion at the end of September, compared with Rs528 billion at the end of June.

PSO said the recovery of these outstanding amounts remains important for improving liquidity and supporting investment in its fuel supply network, renewable energy projects and other operations.
