ISLAMABAD, October 29, 2026 — Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have discussed opportunities to expand investment in agriculture, minerals and mining as both countries seek stronger commercial cooperation.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met Saudi Ambassador Dr Rajeh Tami Albugamy in Islamabad on Thursday to review bilateral economic relations and potential areas for future investment.

According to Pakistan’s Finance Division, the meeting focused on trade, investment and closer engagement between businesses in the two countries.

Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s recent progress towards macroeconomic stability, including improvements in foreign-exchange reserves and inflation indicators.

He also referred to international credit-rating developments and Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen investor confidence.

The Saudi ambassador emphasised the importance of expanding business-to-business cooperation and developing mutually beneficial commercial opportunities.

Agriculture and mining featured prominently in the discussions because both sectors offer potential for investment, production and trade.

Pakistan has been seeking greater foreign participation in mineral development, agricultural modernisation and related infrastructure.

The meeting also examined Pakistan’s geographical position and its potential role in regional trade and transport connectivity.

Officials discussed the wider regional situation and the importance of stability for economic cooperation.

However, the discussions did not establish a publicly confirmed new investment amount or announce a completed transaction.

The finance minister reiterated the government’s commitment to economic reforms and a more predictable investment environment.

The latest engagement reflects continuing efforts to turn longstanding diplomatic relations into practical business partnerships.
