ISLAMABAD, October 28, 2026: Pakistan has invited Qatari businesses to explore investment opportunities in its Special Economic Zones, particularly the Karachi industrial area, following high-level commercial discussions in Doha.
Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan presented opportunities in export-oriented manufacturing during a meeting with the chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industries, according to a government statement issued on October 27.
The discussions focused on connecting Pakistani manufacturers with Qatari investors, strengthening business partnerships and improving access to international markets.
Both sides also examined regional transport routes and supply-chain connections, including opportunities to reach markets in Africa.
In a separate meeting on October 26, Khan and Qatar’s Minister of Municipality discussed agricultural development, food security and commercial cooperation across food supply chains.
Pakistan also held discussions with representatives of Qatar’s Retaj Group about investment in hospitality and tourism.
The group expressed interest in exploring joint ventures with Pakistani companies and expanding its hospitality operations into Pakistan and other Islamic countries.
The engagements took place alongside the World Investment Forum 2026, held in Doha from October 25 to 27.
The discussions identified manufacturing, agriculture and hospitality as potential areas for commercial partnerships between Pakistani and Qatari businesses.
