KARACHI, October 26, 2026: Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited has approved new renewable energy projects and additional industrial land acquisitions as part of plans to expand its manufacturing infrastructure.

In a material information disclosure issued on Monday, the company announced board approval for a 7.5-megawatt wind turbine, a solar power plant with capacity of up to 6 megawatts and a 20-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system.

The planned investments would combine wind and solar generation with battery storage, potentially allowing the company to manage part of its electricity requirements through a more diversified energy arrangement.

The company also confirmed that it had completed the acquisition of Plot A-44 at SITE, Nooriabad, including land, buildings, machinery and associated equipment.

In addition, its board approved the proposed acquisition of five further plots at the industrial estate.

The additional properties include plots measuring 12 acres, 18 acres, four acres, eight acres and 1.75 acres, respectively.

However, the proposed land acquisitions remain subject to due diligence and the completion of necessary corporate, legal and regulatory formalities.

The renewable energy projects have received board approval, but the disclosure does not establish that the new generating and storage facilities are already operational.

Energy costs and electricity reliability remain important considerations for Pakistan’s textile manufacturers, particularly businesses operating energy-intensive production facilities.

Wind and solar generation, supported by battery storage, can provide companies with additional options for managing their power requirements, although actual financial benefits depend on installation costs, operating conditions and system performance.

Gul Ahmed’s announcement reflects a combination of industrial expansion and planned energy investment.

Further disclosures will be needed to establish the implementation timetable, final project costs and the contribution the new facilities will make to the company’s electricity supply.
