ISLAMABAD, November 5, 2026 — Pakistan and Russia have identified opportunities for joint technology projects and commercial partnerships in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing and digital services as the two countries seek to expand cooperation between their technology industries.

The opportunities were discussed during the third Pakistan–Russia IT Collaboration Webinar, organised by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) in collaboration with the University of World Civilizations Moscow.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal urged technology companies from both countries to pursue commercially viable partnerships, develop joint solutions and explore access to new markets.

The discussions covered six priority areas, including artificial intelligence and cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital governance, IT services trade, workforce development and quantum computing.

Representatives from Pakistani technology companies Ebryx and TMC engaged with Russian organisations, including Positive Technologies and the Russian Quantum Center, to explore potential joint projects and technology solutions.

According to the government, Pakistan’s IT and telecommunications exports reached $4.6 billion during the 2025–26 financial year, representing growth of approximately 20% over the previous year.

Iqbal said Pakistan produces more than 75,000 IT graduates annually and aims to train one million artificial intelligence professionals by 2030.

PSEB Chief Executive Faisal Jeddy outlined a proposed process for developing commercial partnerships, including identifying opportunities, matching companies, agreeing on pilot projects and assigning representatives to coordinate follow-up.

The discussions identified potential areas for cooperation, with participating organisations expected to pursue further engagement on specific projects.
