Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has urged PTI supporters across Pakistan to gather at Swabi Interchange on Sunday, October 11, where the party intends to announce the next phase of its long march.
The protest began earlier this month following unsuccessful efforts to resolve differences between the PTI and federal government. Despite initially being described as a march towards Islamabad, the procession had remained within KP at the time of the latest reporting.
Afridi has linked the protest to demands concerning imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan and wider political grievances. KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has criticised the mobilisation. The Swabi gathering and any subsequent route remain future developments, not accomplished events.
