Almaty, November 5, 2026 — Kazakhstan has developed a five-year roadmap to strengthen trade and investment ties with Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Sirjan Zhomangarin said during talks with Pakistani official Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh on November 3.

The discussions focused on expanding business partnerships, improving banking arrangements and developing transport connections between the two countries.

Trade and Investment Opportunities

Sheikh identified textiles, mining, e-commerce and warehousing as potential areas for cooperation. He said Kazakhstan’s relatively affordable energy could attract investment from Pakistani textile businesses.

He also called for implementation of memorandums of understanding signed during President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to Kazakhstan in February 2026.

Direct Air Connectivity

Zhomangarin highlighted the need for direct flights between Pakistan and Kazakhstan to support business travel, trade and tourism.

He also expressed interest in a visit by Pakistan’s prime minister and said Kazakhstan’s foreign minister would travel to Pakistan for a preparatory meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

Both sides discussed using Pakistan’s consumer market and Kazakhstan’s connections with Eurasia to expand commercial opportunities.
