Islamabad, November 5, 2026 — Egypt has invited Pakistani businesses to explore manufacturing and industrial investment opportunities that could help them reach the United States market.

The proposal was discussed during a meeting between Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh in Istanbul.

The ministers met on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC).

Opportunities for Textile Manufacturers

The discussions focused particularly on cooperation in cotton, textiles and industrial manufacturing.

Saleh highlighted Egypt’s preferential trade arrangements with the United States and encouraged Pakistani investors to consider establishing production facilities in Egypt.

Such operations could provide access to American markets, subject to the applicable trade requirements.

Jam Kamal Khan emphasised the importance of joint ventures between Pakistani and Egyptian companies to strengthen manufacturing and international trade.

Business Forum and Investment Partnerships

The Egyptian minister requested details of Pakistani companies expected to participate in an upcoming business forum.

The information would help arrange direct contacts between businesses and identify potential investment partnerships.

Both sides also discussed strengthening institutional cooperation to support private-sector investment.

The talks are part of Pakistan’s efforts to expand commercial relationships beyond traditional export destinations and develop new opportunities for its manufacturing sector.
